On Tuesday, paramilitary troops detained former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on multiple corruption charges after breaking into a courthouse in Islamabad.
Khan’s arrest is the latest chapter in months of political turmoil in the nuclear-armed nation after Khan was ousted last year.
CNN has seen court documents showing that Khan was arrested in Islamabad on corruption charges brought by the National Accountability Bureau.
According to a video provided to CNN by his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he was submitting his biometric data for a court appearance when paramilitary forces broke down a window to get to him.
While wearing dark sunglasses, Khan watched impassively as paramilitary forces attacked the Islamabad High Court premises before arresting him.
