According to a report, Apple’s new AI tools will not be released until after the new iOS 18 software for iPhone and iPads has been released, which is later than originally anticipated.

In a series of software updates scheduled for October, following the initial releases of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September, Bloomberg News stated on Sunday that Apple intends to introduce Apple Intelligence. Additional Apple Intelligence features are still scheduled for release in 2025 or late 2024.

Rumor has it that developers will be able to get their hands on Apple Intelligence for the first time this week, allowing them to test it out on iOS and iPadOS 18.1 beta versions, according to the report.

It was decided to separate its rollout from the launch of the new iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems, according to Bloomberg, in part because of concerns about the stability of Apple Intelligence features.

By leveraging generative AI, Apple Intelligence enables users to command the creation of text, images, and other content. It will be compatible with the company’s M1 chip and subsequent versions on iPads and Macs, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Among its other improvements, it has an upgraded Siri, tools that can use AI to summarize content (such as web pages and voice notes), and support for iPhone Mirroring on MacOS Sequoia, so you can see and interact with your phone’s screen on your Mac.

In an effort to revive its flagging new device sales, Apple unveiled its plans for Apple Intelligence at June’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference. The company highlighted the enhanced capabilities that the platform will bring to iPhones and iPads.

A request for comment made outside of regular business hours did not immediately receive a response from Apple.

The news of Apple Intelligence’s postponement follows the company’s previous decision to delay the release of three new AI features in response to stricter EU tech regulations. These rules mandate that businesses must test their products and services on competing platforms.
