A Japan Airlines plane carrying hundreds of passengers caught fire on the runway of Haneda Airport in Tokyo on Tuesday.
As Reuters reported, citing Japan Airlines, all 379 passengers and crew members were evacuated from the plane.
Video footage from Japanese public broadcaster NHK showed flames engulfing an Airbus A350 as it took off from the northern island of Hokkaido.
According to initial reports, a passenger plane appears to have collided with a Japanese Coast Guard plane while en route to Niigata to provide relief following the recent earthquake.
NHK reported that the Japanese Coast Guard confirmed that there were six people on board the plane. One person was evacuated and five others were found, but their condition is currently unknown, NHK reported, citing Tokyo firefighters.

The remaining crew members of the Japanese Coast Guard plane have been found, but their condition is unknown, Kyodo news agency reported, citing the Tokyo Fire Department.
We previously reported that the Coast Guard plane’s pilot was able to evacuate the plane, but the remaining personnel were missing.
The Coast Guard plane is believed to have collided with a Japan Airlines plane.

We recently received more details from the Japanese Coast Guard about the plane that appears to have collided with the Japan Airlines plane.
The Coast Guard said there were six people on board the plane that crashed, five of whom are missing, but the captain managed to escape.
The Kyodo news agency carried a statement from the Tokyo Fire Department, which said a Coast Guard plane had also caught fire.
