Meta‘s Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram are offline across the world and have left millions of people without access to connect to these social networks.

A person inside Facebook said that Facebook’s internal systems were inaccessible, which could be the reason for Tuesday’s outage.

Meta communications director Andy Stone also confirmed the issue via Twitter, stating via X to say that Meta was “aware people are having trouble accessing our services,” stating the Meta has been “working on this now.” Similar Meta outage occurred in 2021, when an issue with the configuration caused the access of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp for a number of hours.

This time, Threads is also included, and appears to be in complete disarray. When you launch the application on a mobile device it displays an error message saying, “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again.” But, WhatsApp is working without any issues.

The issue was discovered around 10:20 am ET and affected all social media platforms apps and websites.
