Google may have to pay billions of dollars to Oracle Corp for using Oracle owned Java programming software and building one of the most popular and widely used operating system Android back in 2009.

The operating system is being used by almost every smartphone manufacturer across the globe. In 2016, Oracle claimed $9 billion but it looks like that the claim might go up because the use of APIs scaled up during all these years.

The ruling of appeal court, according to some analysts, will have a great impact on the software industry.
